display ACF Google Maps

    I have tried to follow the instructions in

    https://www.advancedcustomfields.com/resources/google-map/

    but I have no idea where to put the google maps helper code.

    Do I use parts of it or the entire code? Where should I put it? Theme functions.php?
    I was able to create a CPT with a google maps field and assign a new template to the cpt. But I cannot display the map. Please help
