Display author possible?

Good morning,
Is it somehow possible to display the name of the author? I like the plug-in and it has a lot of options but that one I am missing.
Maybe I can alter the code with something like<span class="author-name">Author: <?php the_author() ?></span>but can you show me where I best place it.Thanks!
