Display Categories In Random Order

Here goes…..
I have one of my sidebar menus set to only use categories, rather than pages. Let say I have a Food category with Pizza and Tacos as the posts within that category. Is there a way to set up randomizing order without creating a Page Template to only show the category and the orderby=rand command? Thanks!
