Display categories on Trip page

I’m probably missing something but is there a way to display categories, or at least a parent category, and perhaps tags, on the trip page? I am guessing I need to set up a child theme and modify the trip page?

supp question: after publishing a post in the blog it strips out “&nbsp” or line breaks? Is that function that needs to be altered/amended in functions.php or not likely related to the theme?
