Display category name

Hi, Love this plugin, can think of a hundred uses and it is really something that is lacking in most themes. Many thanks.

I have a question which may relate more to the widget I am choosing to display, but someone here may be able to help.

I’m using the Recent Posts widget, and would like to also display the post category.

Currently it reads:

[Post-title] [Post-date]

I’d like it to read:

[Post-category]: [post-title] [post-date]

Any advice greatly appreciated. Unfortunately I can’t share the site as it is currently only available locally due to confidentiality etc.
