Display certain info based on username/ID

Hi:

I am trying to figure out how to go about doing the following:

I would like to have an external database populated with usernames, passwords and test scores for each user.

I would like the users to be able to log in (external authentication) and the test score for that particular user to be displayed upon successful login.

In other words, a user is only able to view his/her test score upon successful login. This authentication must be different from the built in wordpress authentication.

Any ideas?
