Can I set the display condition to the start date or due date?
Instead of adding ads by release age

    I read this teaching
    https://wpadvancedads.com/manual/start-expiry-date/
    setting “Start Date” into 2019/05/01
And setting “Expiry Date” into 2019/12/31
But the article with a release date of 2019/04/29 still shows

    Hi @asta141592,

    Thanks for reaching out.

I am not sure if I really understood your question. If not, I would appreciate if you could try to explain it again.

The schedule options of the ad units don’t affect the publishing status of your articles.

You can add a start and expiration date for your ads. If you use 2019/05/01 as your start date and 2019/12/31 as your expiry date, the ad will be published immediately. Its status will change on 2019/12/31 from “published” to “draft”. Until this moment, this ad will show up on your website as long as it is integrated there.

To show ads in dependency on the publishing date of your articles, I recommend using the “content age” display condition.

    Best regards,
    Joachim

How do I set up articles published before May and never show ad units?

    Thread Starter asta141592

If “content age” is set to “older than 138 days”
As the years go by, articles published after May will not display ad units.

Whether it is now or in the future. Articles published before this point in time do not display ad units.Articles posted after this time will show ad units.

    Hi asta141592,

    Thanks for this question.

The majority of users, who add this condition is to hide ads from new posts to avoid that returning readers see too many ads. Do you want to turn this in a way to hide ads in old content? No problem!

“If “content age” is set to “older than 138 days”
As the years go by, articles published after May will not display ad units.”

Yes, this is true. But you could also change the setting from “older than 138 days” to “younger than 200 days”, for example.

    Does this solve your problem?

    Best regards,
    Joachim

    Thank you for your answer!
Unfortunately, setting “younger than 200 days” does not solve my problem. If I do this, a few months later. Articles published after May this year will show ad units.

I sincerely hope that the conditions of advertising can be time-limited.

    thank you for your help!

    Hi asta141592,

    Thanks for your reply.

As a workaround you could update the conditions of your ad units. I don’t know your setup, but if you don’t use too many different, this might be the easiest solution.

You could also put your suggestion on our feature requests list.

If you are technically savvy, you could also build your own condition. In this case, I could tell your the hook that you would need for it.

    Best regards,
    Joachim
