• I will be teaching a class to a group of students and each student will be designing and publishing a finished web page as part of a class project. The school uses WordPress CMS as their page builder. I have asked them to add the Apex Theme for the page template.

AT the bottom of the page editor, there is an option to insert two school images onto the bottom of each published page. The school wants to hide this section on the student projects.

I am looking at the Pro theme because it has the Display Controls features. Would that feature be able to hide the image edits.

Would appreciate any ideas anyone can share,

    Thanks

Since I can’t use a link to the back end of their site, I have provides a link to a screen shot at the page above.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Thanks for using Apex!

The Display Controls in Apex Pro are used entirely for elements that appear in the front-end of the site, so this actually won’t be helpful for hiding elements in the back-end/editor.

The “School images” section has been added to the site as “post meta box.” While there is a way in the editor for your students to hide them, they’d all have to hide it themselves individually, which I don’t think is the proper solution.

Instead, hiding it will require a small edit to the PHP used to create the meta box. Is there a developer on your team that added the meta box? If so, let them know they can do a check with the current_user_can() function to limit the meta box to admins only.
