I’ve created several data streams for each subsite and I am able to connect to those data streams in each subsite, however, the dashboard widget shows all data for the entire multisite network. How do I just show data for that data stream, e.g., website.com/subsite-one instead of showing all paths under website.com/

This may be more of an analytics question, but I would assume if you create a data stream with a specific path and connect to that specific measurement ID that it would only show data collected from that web path, but it shows everything under the property instead of just the data stream. I feel like I am missing something somewhere or GA4 just doesn’t work as I am expecting it to?

Thanks, any guidance is greatly appreciated.

    Hi,

Under plugin’s General Settings screen, on each site, make sure use Google Analytics 4 data to generate reports and stats is switched on.

You shoul also have a look at this documentation, especially to Data Streams section.

Sounds like I need a separate property for each subsite instead of multiple data streams. The interesting thing here is I was using monster insights previously that connected to the same property and automatically connected each subsite as a separate data stream, so I assumed I could somehow filter each data stream to show only that particular subsite. According to the documentation I would need roll up properties, however, I don’t have $150k/yr to purchase Analytics 360 in order to do roll up properties.

Looks like I may need to approach this in a different manner by setting up 2 properties per subsite. One property for the entire multisite network and then a separate property per subsite domain/path so that we can gather over all analytics and then separate analytics per subsite.

Thanks for your help in understanding the limitations of the new GA4 and understanding that the way we are approaching data streams is incorrect, even though the other plugin led me down this path.
