Display details/availability times of selected date
-
How do I display the availability of a specific date chosen by someone who wants to book a time slot?
E.g. Someone selects March 3, 2023. Then sees the availability on that specific day, whereby other engagements already in my Google calendar are displayed and hence not bookable.

Hello.
If you asking if it’s possible to sync Booking Calendar with another sources, like with Google Calendar, then yes it’s possible. It’s means that if the event for specific date(s) will exist in the Google calendar, then such dates will become unavailable in the Booking Calendar.
Please read more about this feature here: https://wpbookingcalendar.com/faq/#sync
Import.
Please check about the configuration of import events from .ics feeds in this FAQ instruction here https://wpbookingcalendar.com/faq/import-ics-feeds/
Please note, the import process is working in that case, when some visitor is open your website page with booking import shortcode. So you can configure CRON at your server, for periodically accessing this page with booking import shortcode to start the import process. Or you can insert the import shortcode before booking form shortcode, so firstly the system will start the import process and only then show the booking form, when someone visits your page.
In case if you are having some issue of not ability to import new events, then check this troubleshooting instruction: https://wpbookingcalendar.com/faq/ics-importing-issue/
You can define CRON at your server for periodically access pages with import .ics feeds shortcodes and start import process during specific time-intervals, then check this: https://wpbookingcalendar.com/faq/cron-script/
Export.
Please check about the configuration of export .ics feeds in this FAQ instruction here https://wpbookingcalendar.com/faq/export-ics-feeds/
Booking Calendar is generated .ics feed with bookings in real time. But how often some services (like airbnb, or booking.com ) access this .ics feed to import the bookings from Booking Calendar into their own system, does not depend on the Booking Calendar. So in other words, Booking Calendar does not force the import process by third party service, when some booking is created. You need to check with support of this service (like airbnb or booking.com), about how often they can access the .ics feed for making imports.
Kind Regards.
Hi,
Thank you for your extensive explanation!
What I still do not see/understand is how to see availability on a specific date.
So someone selects the date March 3, 2023; clicks on this date and then sees the availability only for that date on that date (say from 2pm to 3.30 pm) and then is able to book that time slot.
How do I do that?
Hello.
You need to add the time slots to the booking form at the Booking > Settings > Form page.
You can check how to add and configure time slots in the Booking Calendar Free version here https://youtu.be/-pOTMiyp6Q8?t=28s
Ok.
I’ve got the time slots working. There are two things I’m still struggling with:
Receiving confirmation emails when I make a (test) booking. I don’t seem to get any.
Syncing my Google calendar with the booking plugin.
I’ve created an/the API key and filled in the Google calendar ID. But at this moment it still shows that all days are available (which they are not in my Google calendar).
Thank you!Hello.
- Please make test booking and then check about the emails.
Otherwise Not sending emails, can depend on the different items. Please check this troubleshooting instruction: https://wpbookingcalendar.com/faq/no-emails/
Shot summary.
Firstly you need to check that you have activated and configured the email templates at the Booking > Settings > Emails page:
- option “Enable / Disable” at the specific email templates at the Booking > Settings > Emails page, must be checked
- – also “From” field at the specific email template must to have the same website DNS as your website.?
But in most situations you will need to install and configure some SMTP plugin.
We can recommend to install and configure this WP Mail plugin: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/wp-mail-smtp/
but you can search and install any other SMTP plugin: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/search/smtp/
Why do you need to have an SMTP plugin?
SMTP plugins have to fix your email deliverability by reconfiguring WordPress to use a proper SMTP provider when sending emails.
This is a problem for a lot of WordPress sites because by default, WordPress uses the PHP mail function to send emails generated by WordPress.
The issue is that most WordPress hosting companies don’t have their servers properly configured for sending PHP emails.?
The combination of two causes your WordPress emails to not get delivered.
It also can be a reason why your emails are marked as spam.
Please check more here https://wpmailsmtp.com/wordpress-emails-going-to-spam/
2) Relative import of events from the Google Calendar. System start import process, when someone visit your website, at the front-end side.
Otherwise please recheck your configuration relative to the FAQ instruction https://wpbookingcalendar.com/faq/
Kind Regards.
Hi,
I’ve tried my best but I’m giving up.
It’s all too complicated. I’m not a technical person but do understand something and this is just way too complicated.Emails don’t work and importing Google calendar doesn’t work.
If you’re willing to help/do it for me, by all means. But, again, I give up.
Hello.
- Relative emails you just need to install one of SMTP plugin to resolve the issue of sending emails. More about configuration of specific SMTP plugin, you can check in support of this specific plugin.
- If you have any issues with import Booking Calendar events from other sources, please let me know at what exactly step of configuration do you have an issue. Please send screenshots of your issue. Please send it to support @ wpbookingcalendar.com
Kind Regards.
Hi,
I’ve got the email problem solved (installed and configured the WP Mail SMTP plugin). So that’s working.
I’ve sent you some screenshots on how I’ve configured the Google calendar import. At this moment it doesn’t seem to work.
Thanks for your help so far.
