  • You should be able to see the “Read More” tab in the editor. This will insert a “read more” and truncate the entry on the blog page where you want it. The individual page shows the whole item. Is this what you want?

Thanks for your help. I’ve added excerpts to my posts but it is still showing the full post on the blog pages. I would rather the excerpt to be automatic rather than having to fill in in the excerpt field.

The indivifual posts will show the whole post. Using the more tag is simpler than the excerpt, and is only one click.

Unless you want a particular stub which is not just the start of the post, then you will have to create the excerpt for each item.

I can’t seem to find the option to use the more tag in the twenty nineteen gutenberg editor. Where is it located?

    Thanks

Hover your cursor over the icons when editing the post (what each icon does has a tag appear with its name/function). It is between the “remove link” and the “media” icons in my set-up (plain out of the box installation) on the second row of icons as I look at it on my laptop.
