Display featured posts first if found in results

  • Hello,

    We are testing out Relevanssi with GeoDirectory and am wondering if it is possible to have posts with their category set to “featured” displayed at the top of the search results if the entered keywords match the indexed content. *Note: some posts have multiple categories. Not sure if this would affect functionality. We want to boost these results as the customers are paying to have their listings featured throughout the website.

    We currently have the default order set to “relevance” under Search Options.

    Is this possible using a custom search page query, filter, or hook?

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    See Sorting by Category on this knowledge base entry. That’s one way to have posts in particular category bubble up in the results. That’s better than messing with the weights, as the filter will make it sure the category matches come up first.
