I’d like to display mailoptin forms whenever a user opens a pdf file on my site – so, with URLs such domainname.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Filename.pdf, corresponding to files uploaded in the Media Gallery.

I tried to use the option “Show optin on Post types: Media” in the sandbox, and it does not work – but perhaps it’s just because of the sandbox limited media management?

Or maybe there is another way (e.g. via the Click launch code…)

    Thanks in advance for suggestions.

    Hey ????.

If the user needs to click something (buttons, images etc.) to access the PDF’s then MailOptin Click Launch (click trigger) will do the job. MailOptin’s click launch allows you to turn any link, button or image into a two-step opt-in process.

Follow this guide to learn how to activate Click Launch optin trigger.

You can also open a support ticket at https://mailoptin.io/support if you need assistance setting it up.

Many thanks for your reply, Ibrahim.

I fear what you propose does not fit to my situation… If I understand correctly, using the “Click Launch” feature you have to set the “final destination” link as an “After Success” redirect URL. Yet, the site I’m working on has many posts, each one with a “Download” link leading to a different PDF related to the post. So, I cannot set the redirect URL one by one, it must be automatic. And I’d like that the pdf is viewed even if one does not subscribe.

    Suggestions?

And what about the “Show optin on Post types: Media” behavior?

    Thanks again.

Unfortunately you will have to manually configure the redirect for every opt-in on the posts
