Hey everyone, I’m running a personal family blog for myself to stay intact with my relatives. I want my blog so that when they leave a comment it displays their name, not their username, that way it’s much more personal. Is there anyway to do this? I’ve been searching around the plugins and google for 15 mins and haven’t found an answer yet!

    thanks a lot everyone!

The comments get saved with the author’s “Display Name” if they are logged in. So go to the User Profiles in the admin section, and change the user’s “Display Name” to whatever you want it to be.

This will only affect new comments put in after the change, not old ones.

Just to clarify that we are on the same page…
Do they have to login for commenting? (because if not, they can put anything in the Name filed).

On the other hand if they have to log in, it means they have registered. Then they or you can add in their profile their first, last name etc. and after upgrading the profile with the names… you can define what to display publicly.

Alright thanks, yea I make it required for people to login to even see the blog. And I do require my approval of whoever registers. So I guess I can just manually change that, I did not see that!

    Thanks a lot!
