Display initial map?

Hello!
I want to use this plugin on my website, but I need a small change.
The products of the website are sold worldwide, so I will display at first an image of the world with links (<img src=”…” usemap=”#Map” border=”0″ />) and then through php and a variable, when you click on something (any continent) it will display the stores on that continent and no longer display the map and just a simple drop menu.
I already have the dropmenu and the image with the map, but my issue is that I don’t know what to put on the link of the image so that when clicked changes a variable and change the website through ajax.
