Display Name Publicly option missing

This guide uses the default wp_update_user function to run after checkout and explicitly set the user’s display name (so you may customize this) with the pmpro_after_checkout hook – https://www.paidmembershipspro.com/hook/pmpro_after_checkout/

? I don’t get it, the users having the issue are admins, not coming in through the subscription service. And the code in the documents wants to use the person’s real name. We want to use the chosen nickname, which is neither a real name, nor a user name.

This guide is a starting point and will need to be tweaked a bit further, you could also use the user_register hook instead – https://developer.www.ads-software.com/reference/hooks/user_register/

And set the display name to the user’s nickname. You may reach out to a local WordPress developer if you need further assistance.
