• I’ve created a custom taxonomy that’s hierarchical and assigned it to my posts. I’m not sure if I set up the breadcrumbs right in order for it to show correctly.

    For instance the custom taxonomy is “can” and one field is “tin”.
    The breadcrumbs show: Home-tin
    Should it show Home-Can-Tin ?
    If so, how do I set that up?

    Also, under General Setting I see that the Breadcrumb Separator is: > to show the > sign. What is the separator to show a vertical line ” | ” ?

    I’d appreciate some help on this.

    Also, made a mistake above, meant to ask what’s the separator to show a dash ” – “.

    For the vertical line, IIRC, you should be able to just replace > with |. Otherwise, find the HTML tag version of | which is |. If you want a dash, use — or – depending if you want an em or en dash.

    As for the other question, since archive pages for an entire taxonomy type do not exist (e.g. foo.com/can doesn’t result in an archive page with all Can taxonomy members), Breadcrumb NavXT does not include taxonomy names in the breadcrumb trail. It essentially boils down to not having anything to link to.

    Well it looks like the forums eat certain HTML character codes, do a search for the vertical line one if you need it.

    Thank you for clarifying about the taxonomy names and the info about the separator.

    @mtekk,
    I have the same issue with custom taxonomies and I’d be happy for some help.

    I know that archive pages for an entire taxonomy type do not exist, but I still want to include and show the taxonomy name in the breadcrumb trail, unlinked to anything, but just as a trail for the user to understand where he is – in the taxonomy-term
    Is there a way to achieve this with Breadcrumb NavXT?

    More than that, currently, when user is in an archive term page, the breadcrumb trails wrongly contains the CPT name of the first post that comes up in that term archive loop.

    In my situatiom, since this custom taxonomy is registered for several cpt’s, it may appear weird to the user to see the trail arbitrarily with a cpt name.

    Thanks
