• I’m using the Harmonic theme and I would like each post to display the author, including a link to the author page. Is it possible?

  • Hi –

I’d love to take a look at the site. Can you share a link?

It’s important to know that harmonic is now retired. Because of that, my first suggestion would be to find a new theme that has this author incorporation built in from the start.

Thanks for the quick reply. The blog is here: https://blog.jooq.org

Interesting, I didn’t know it is retired… Well, we could switch themes, if there’s a similar looking one, although I really liked the harmonic one.

    Hi @lukaseder,

although I really liked the harmonic one

You can continue using the Harmonic theme if you wish. It’s just worth bearing in mind we won’t be adding any new features and bug fixes are not guaranteed — which is why @lizkarkoski mentioned alternatives.

If you still want to change themes, let me know and I’ll see if I can suggest an alternative. But if not, you can continue using Harmonic for now ??

    Hi @gemmaevans

Thanks for the clarifications. I’d love to learn about alternatives that support displaying the author and look similar to Harmonic – I’m not *that* attached to it ??

    Thanks,
    Lukas

Hi Lukas, we’re not sure which features about Harmonic are most important to you. But if you like the single-page scroll effect, this one may work:

I recommend browsing the other theme demos here too:
    https://wordpress.com/themes/free/filter/author-bio

And of course there are other themes out there too. These are just ones we know well. ??

Thank you very much for your help. The main “requirements” are:

    – Wide text area (to display code without line wraps or horizontal scroll bars)
    – Nice, readable font

At first sight, lodestar with some CSS adaptations does seem to be a great fit.

    Thanks for your excellent support!

    Hi @lukaseder,

At first sight, lodestar with some CSS adaptations does seem to be a great fit.

That’s great to hear! If you decide to use Lodestar and have any setup questions, there is a dedicated support forum for that theme here:

Fingers crossed Lodestar does what you are looking for ??
