Display Post Date

Perhaps this is somewhere in the docs, I’ll look again, but I didn’t see it in the settings — how can I display the date, say beneath the title? I see show/hide the title, the thumbnail and the excerpt and a link, but not date. Is there a way I can do that via a function or is that a setting that could be added in an update?
