Thanks, that’s exactly the type of thing I was looking for. Couldn’t find anything like that for the life of me, and this is probably the most frequent question I’ve encountered. Is there any downside to having a permanent redirect to a certain page? Or what would be the way to eidt my pages.php so that this happens without the use of a plugin?

On a larger note, what’s the recommended number of plugins recommended to have activated? I assume that at a certain point it can cause a huge slowdown on the site.

You could edit code, but why if there is no problem with the site?

The number of plugins is less a factor than what the plugins do. I have seen sites with 40-50 plugins that run fine, and ones with 5 that are slow. The main question to ask is; How many database queries does the plugin do, and how complex are the queries? The second question is: How frequently do the plugins run?

My main site has 18 plugins, but most of them run only on individual pages, with only 4 in the sidebars on every page.

Of course, there can be other factors, but this is a good start.
