Display-posts shortcode is showing more than posts_per_page limit

Hi all,

I am using the Display-Posts Shortcode plug-in. I’ve used the shortcode on many other sites, but for some reason on my site https://www.mapmaiden.com the plug-in is allowing a list of over 20 recent posts to appear when I have the page_per_posts set to “4”. Any thoughts?

Since I don’t want the mistake to stay up on my page, I took a screen shot of the list it’s producing here: https://www.mapmaiden.com/?attachment_id=2332

The code I was using is:
[display-posts posts_per_page=”4″ include_excerpt=”true” image_size=”thumbnail” wrapper=”div”]

Any thoughts and suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
