Display Product in Specific Subcategory and NOT the Category

Hi,
I would like to display products ONLY in the subcategory that I indicate when configuring the product. I do NOT want them to also show in the category that the subcategory belongs to. Can this be done?
For example, let’s say I have a category structure of: Decor > Rug > Vinyl. I then create 2 product entries in WooCommerce, one is a collection of rugs (different sizes) and the other is a specific rug (specific size). I would like to configure:
– the collection to appear in BOTH “Decor” AND “Rug”
– the specific rug to appear in ONLY “Vinyl”, NOT also in “Decor” and “Rug”Right now the individual product (specific rug) is configured with only the subcategory “Vinyl” checked and yet it is also appearing in the parent categories of “Decor” and “Rug” on the product pages.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I believe this is the expected behavior since the category
Vinylis under the parent categories:RugandDecor.I replicated the scenario on my end and I was able to reproduce the same output:

With this, what you want to achieve would require customization to do it. Since custom coding is outside our scope of support, I am leaving this thread open for a bit to see if anyone can chime in to help you out.
