Hi Simon. you can do this using a custom slideshow script, here is an example.

Is this where I will be able to set the image as a div background rather than inserting <img> tags into the markup? I would like to do this so on rollover I may use background:cover in the CSS.

    Many thanks.

yes, I can second that request. the plugin seems to just insert images using code from elsewhere in wordpress – would be great to be able to control that in a bit more detail – any ideas?

The slide image are featured images, so the markup is automatically generated by WordPress. You can use a custom slideshow template and change this if you want so that it gets the featured image URL and set it as the background image for the slide.

But the slideshows need to have a fixed size set, they will shrink from there, but you can’t set them to 100%. If you are trying to use background:cover to make a full screen background slideshow, that won’t work with Meteor Slides.

If you need this functionality I’d recommend you use the Full Screen Background Images plugin.
