Good evening WPMU DEV Team, thank you so much for this wonderful plugin. This is really one of a kind. Anyway, Is it possible to choose specific categories that users can select in category field in front end form? Hope you can help me.

Thank you so much in advance.

if selecting specific categories is not possible, how about displaying only the parent categories? Thank you so much

    Hello @alexzaragoza21,

If you are referring to the create post form, you can select both parent and child categories if you have the categories option turned on in the post data field.

You can turn it on by navigating to Forminator-> Form-> Edit Form-> Post-Data-> Turn on categories and save the form. Should you have any doubts or need help, please reply in the thread below and we would be very happy to help.

    Good morning @prathamesh,

I tried what you said here. I did not see any option to control the categories that will appear in the front end form. What I want is to limit the categories that users can select/see in the front end form. Do you think this is possible? Thank you so much.

    Hello @alexzaragoza21

    I trust you’re doing well!

I’m sorry we have imposed your reply on is a thread. Please let us know if you still having this issue. If yes, please re-open this thread by replying back.

    Kind regards,
    Nastia

I have a category structure like this,

    2019
    – A
    – B
    – C
    2020
    – A
    – B
    – C

I’m wondering if it’s possible to only include, for example, the 2020 ‘A’, ‘B’, ‘C’ categories and not the 2019 ones in a post creation form? Currently my form shows all parent and child categories.

    Thank you in advance.

    Hi @kingandyj

I hope you are doing well.

Could you please create a new ticket and we can take a closer look at your structure and check what is the best option?

    Best Regards
    Patrick Freitas
