There are several attributes that can be used to configure the behaviour for the [wtf_fu_showfiles] shortcode.

The documentation for these can be found under the documentation tab -> shortcodes -> wtf_fu_show_files.

I thought there was an option for this, however I just checked and found that there is currently no way to turn the thumbnails off for image file types, this is automatically detected and added for image file types.

I am currently reviewing features in the PRO version and as you are a pro subscriber, I will add an attribute to allow turning images off to the [wtf_fu_showfiles] shortcode in the next release of the pro version.

This will be available in the “not too distant future” ( depends what else I decide to add ).

    regards

    Hi Lynton,

I really appreciate that you are adding this to your “To Do” list. My emails and pages will look much more professional without a container icon. I actually read through all of your documentation and all of the previous support tickets before posting. At one stage I found something that mentioned that file_type = “music” might work but I tried it and was unsuccessful. I have just tried a plugin that allows you to upload additional images for other file types but it doesn’t seem to help either. I look forward to the next update. Keep up the good work!

    Regards,

    James

I’ve started on it, also looking at providing images for mimetypes like PDF doc mp3, etc.

Thw Filetype attribute is not used anymore as image type is now determined from the mimetype automatically. That would have worked earlier on but not now.

If you have any other ideas / needs in this area, now is the time to ask. ??

Fantastic! The ability to see images as an icon is a very polished, professional thing to facilitate.

I tried to add file images for the following extensions:
    Text Files: csv, txt
    Word: doc, docx
    Microsoft Access: accdb
    Excel: xls, xlsx
    Powerpoint: ppt, pptx
Zip File Extensions: zip, zipx, gpg, txt.gpg, tar.gz, tar, rar, tar.xz, 7z

I can provide the images that I have saved if it helps (16×16 icons in png format)?

    Thank you so much Lynton!

I have to look around to see what icons are freely available, mwybe glyphicons as i use these already for arrows etc. be glad to hear of any suggestions.

I use paint.net. I look for images on google images and then crop and resize as necessary and save as png in the correct file size. I can do this for you if you want, doesn’t take me long. Just specify the size and format of the images that you want.

Hi James, Sorry for the long wait but I ended up doing quite a bit for this release.

I have added a new shortcode ‘wtf_fu_list_files’ that will provide a list of the files with icons if requested. Just some final testing to do now and will release soon. This will be released as part of the pro package version 3.0

Once available, you will need to update both the core and pro plugins. Do the core one first. Both will be labeled version 3.0.0.

Thanks for your offer of the icons I ended up using a free icon set that is distributed as a scaleable font that means the icon size can easily be changed in the CSS.

    Regards,
    Lynton

It’s now released in 3.0.0. And 3.0.0 pro.

I forgot to add that I also added a show_images attribute so images can be turned off in wtf_fu_show_files however the new wtf_fu_list_files should better suit what you want to do.
