    After switching to WP4.8, with its new widget editor, the Display Widget fields have disappeared from all my widgets! They still appear to be displaying on the correct pages, but there is no list of pages to select from, and no option to display/not display on selected pages. The Logic field of each widget is now empty, even the ones that used to have been used. The plug-in editor says we have version 2.6 of the Display Widget plug-in (and yes, it is marked as activated). Can someone tell me how to restore this functionality?

    This forum is for the Display Widgets SEO Plus plugin (currently v1.1.2), you are using the Display Widgets Plugin v2.6.

    There’s a bug or a feature change (I think it’s a bug) introduced in the v2.6 update you are currently running which requires the user to click the Save widget button to show the Display Widget options.

    WordPress has removed the 2.6 version from the WordPress plugin repository because it automatically adds a geolocation widget (tracking where your users came from) from a private server which isn’t allowed.

    I would suggest either downgrading to Display Widgets v2.05 (this doesn’t have the tracking widget) or better yet switching to the Display Widgets SEO Plus plugin which is based on the Display Widgets plugin v2.05 with bug fixes and new widget logic features. Display widgets SEO Plus will seamlessly use your current Display Widgets options, see https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/upgrading-the-display-widgets-plugin-to-the-display-widgets-seo-plus-plugin/

    Updating to Display Widgets SEO Plus restored the location options in the widget editor.
    Thanks for the tip, Dave.

    @seo-dave, I understand that you want to drive traffic to your plugin by bashing mine, but let’s try to work together instead of pointing fingers and blaming others, can we? I decided to take over this plugin simply because I used for a while, and seeing that the original developer was not updating it anymore made me think about the potential that this feature could have, and how it could be improved. I did it with no short term plan to make any money, it’s basically just the same passion that drives thousands of developers around the world to contribute to the open source community. So, with this in mind, can we collaborate and work together on improving the plugin instead of doing what you’re doing? Thank you!

    @donshirer, please keep using https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/display-widgets/ – we have restored all the features and fixed the bugs!

    @displaywidget :
    I updated to the new version of your DisplayWidget plug-in and have verified that it also fixed the problem with the location list not displaying.

    I don’t want to get involved in your argument with Dave. Both of you have obviously spent considerable time and effort in creating your plug-ins and I applaud you both. I’ll keep both your plug-ins around just in case the WP gurus disable something else in their next version.
