display_name etc instead of fname last name

Hi all,
atm KNR only uses first and last name in the list. Would it be possible to configure also display_name or user_nicename as listname?
I shipped around it with replacing $authorNameMarkup with
$authorNameMarkup = get_the_author_meta( display_name , $row->ID );but I am not sure about perfomance…;(
