I think I will need to look at giving users a way to enter a generic PHP date format for this to be more flexible. I will try to get to this in July. Very busy over the next few weeks.

    Hi Yannick,

Thank you for a great plugin!
Have you given any more consideration to allowing different php date format?

We would like to use abbreviated month followed by the date and year i.e. Jul 6, 2015

I have thought about supporting any PHP date format string, but that would only work well with the front-end display, since the back-end calendar format would be different.

That being said, I will what I can put together in the next few days to support this.

I have just pushed out a new release to support this, version 1.3. It adds two new options for date format configuration. The first option is to use the date format specified in the WordPress General Options section. The second one is to set a custom date formatting string in a new field.

In the back-end, the date format is now always the same, no matter what you set as the date format for the widget.

Please update to the latest version and confirm that this lets you set the dates as desired.

Please consider donating to support this plugin’s development.
