Displaying a list of posts with a summary line

  • Part of out site will be Technical Papers. We’re thinking of creating Posts that are in fact Technical Papers. Then we want to list the Technical Papers, with perhaps a one line summary, so that users can select what they are interested in.
    Is there a good way to do this in WordPress ? I suppose I’m trying to use WordPress as a content management system.

  • First, in “advanced editing mode” you can enter your own excerpt. So if you don’t need fuller excerpts for another part of the site, you could just use that.
    If the WP excerpt doesn’t meet your needs, you could create a custom field and then use the Get Custom plug-in to display the text you enter.
