    Hello!

I would like to know if there is a way to display the name of an album with the album itself.
My issue is that I have a main page showing 4 albums, so I added directly on the page the title of the albums, but then these titles keep appearing on the galleries pages (when you click one of the gallery on the main page).
    The page is here: https://www.cer-ge.ch/site/mediatheque/
When you click on one of the gallery, you will see the images in it, but also the titles that should only show on the main page.

Any help would be very appreciated! ??
    Thank you

Hello @webmastercer ! I’d be happy to help ?? There are two things you can do:

    1) Enable gallery descriptions in the album settings here: https://screencast.com/t/ZwpJzdZyqOfO
    2) Create pages for your galleries and link them. Follow our step by step guide here: https://www.imagely.com/docs/link-gallery-album-page/

    Hope this helps!

Thank you very much for your quick answer!

The second solution could do the trick, but it would be to complicated to create a page each time we add a gallery, so I prefer not to use this one.
The first solution is actually not really what I want, but it goes in the right direction. Wouldn’t it be possible to add a setting that would allow to display or not the name of the album just before the galleries, when using the shortcode [album=x] ?

Of course I may use your first solution to display the gallery description on the gallery page, but still I wouldn’t be able to display anything on the albums page, because it would appear on the gallery page.

If you think of a solution that needs to do some modifications directly in the code, then there is no problem for me to implement it.

    Thank you,

@webmastercer – It is strongly recommended to use the current NextGEN Gallery shortcodes (see https://imagely.com/docs/nextgen-gallery-shortcodes/) rather than the very old style reference you are using ([album=x]). This will provide you with some additional finer control over the displays.

Using the Insert Gallery Window (IGW) / Add Gallery button will provide you with the full current shortcode when you insert the display which you can then modify as needed.

If you prefer a custom template instead (which may suit your purposes better) you can copy the current template file as found under its relevant folder and paste it under the similar structure found under /wp-content/ngg/…

Using the custom template approach will change all existing and be used for all new displays the template is referencing going forward.

    Thanks!

    – Cais.
