• Hi

I have just started using TheCartPress and so far it is ticking all the boxes for a site I am building.

One issue I have come across is how do I display the categories instead of the products in my catalogue.

I have searched through this forum and read how you do it but I am hitting a blank, I have tried using the short codes generator but I am hitting a wall.

Any help or advice greatly welcomed.

    Thanks ??

  • Hi did you find out how to do this as I have same problem and can’t find solution?

    Thanks

How to add catergories in shop?

You add the categories using Tools > Shortcodes and create a shortcode for each category you created and copy and paste the short code onto your page or post

I just create a simple page with thumbnail images and category name beneath that links to each category page (generated by shortcode) that displays only the products in the category.

    Generating Category Shortcodes:
https://thecartpress.com/wordpress-ecommerce/shortcode/ (Use Taxonomy > Categories > Select Category)

    Applying shortcodes to pages:

    Hi Carol,

    Great!

“I just create a simple page with thumbnail images and category name beneath that links to each category page (generated by shortcode) that displays only the products in the category.”

Is one way, but you could avoid creating shortcodes and uses taxonomy pages. If you add the “Product tree widget”, you can navigate through your catalogue. So, you could use those urls.

    Best regards
