Displaying category info for Latest Posts

Hi there,

The Latest Posts block has settings for “Display author name” and “Display post date” – is there a reason it doesn’t support “Display categories” as well? Is there a known way to add this?

Background on what I am trying to do: I am trying to display my last 1 or 2 posts on my home page, with some other home page content above. I want the full content of these posts to display in the main page area, not the sidebar. A “Latest Posts” block on my home page does everything I need, except for displaying the category links. I’m fine with trying a different approach, so long as it doesn’t affect other pages etc.
