Displaying Custom Post Type categories in the page.php template

    I apologize if this already exist, I’ve been searching for hours and tried a few things but nothing seems to work.

    I created a custom post type with custom taxonomies this all works and have one category with two posts associated with published. Ive created a custom page template and am bringing in the custom post types, this is also working.

    My issue is the categories, they are not displaying with <?php the_category();?> – i want to show the categories those custom posts are categorized in. Is there a way to display those categories?
