    Hi

I’ve installed Content Aware Sidebars w/o problems
Created a new SideBard, put some widgets, and configured it with a simple condition. Show only on “Courses”, which is a post type (I guess) created by Learndash plugin I’m using.

    Image1

Once set conditions, I’ve edited each course and set this custom sidebar to be shown in the Quick Select. Then saved, as shown here.

    Image2

    1. Each time I change content conditions in the custom sidebar’s settings, the sidebar Quick Select option is erased for each course. Is this normal?

    2. I’m using Bridge theme and Learndash plugin, both with license.

    3. I’ve tried for posts content type, and worked fine, the custom-sidebar replaced sidebar

    Thanks a lot

    Thank you for reporting this.

It depends on how you change the conditions. In Image1, the conditions says that the sidebar should be displayed on all course pages (current and future ones), so there shouldn’t be a need for using the “Quick Select” in that case.

If you just use the conditions as in Image1, is the sidebar displayed on course pages as expected?

    Hi
    No, it is not displayed
I’ve edited courses again, and there were no options set for Quick Select

    Thanks

Does it work when you use “Quick Select”, or does it not work at all?

Does your course pages display a sidebar by default? (In Image2 you chose to replace “Sidebar” with the course sidebar)

    Hi Joachim

No, it does not work when using Quick Select (when editing a course)

The courses don’t display a sidebar by default.

PS: When I do the same for pages or other post types (products, with WooCommerce) it works great!

The woot thing here is that LearnDash’s author suggests to use your plugin (but he does not help to make it work)
    Learndash faq website

Could be the main problem my current theme? Or is there a way to make the courses to force display a sidebar…. ?

    Thanks a lot

Yes, LearnDash and Content Aware Sidebars work great together. However, if your courses do not display a default sidebar, this plugin cannot display another sidebar as it doesn’t alter the theme templates (it would be awesome though, but nearly impossible because of the way themes are built).

I’d suggest that you find out what file/template your theme uses to display courses. Then, look at page.php or index.php in your theme to see how those files include a default sidebar. You can then change the course template to include a sidebar the same way, and finally (optionally) use Content Aware Sidebars to change the sidebar for individual or all courses.

Let me know if you have any questions about this!
