Displaying In Sidebar

  • Hi – I was wondering if there is a way to use this plugin to display posts from specific categories in different sidebars using A Text or HTML widget.

    For example, I have 1 sidebar called Home page and it only appears on the “Home page” and displays ALL posts no matter what the category is. Then I have a 2nd Sidebar called “Features” and it only appears on the Feature’s page and displays all posts that are categorized as “Features”.

    When I add a unique short code to each sidebar (using either a text widget or an HTML widget, the shortcodes automatically update so that they match. For example, if I add [display-posts category=”features”] in the “Features” sidebar and then add [display-posts] in the “Home Page” sidebar, once I save, they BOTH change to [display-posts].

    Any idea why this might be happening or how I can fix it?

    It sounds like this might be an issue with your theme. Adding the shortcode to one sidebar should not change it in another sidebar. That’s not standard WP functionality, so maybe your theme has some custom code to try and sync the sidebars?

    Thank you for your quick response. I’m using the pro version of Astra so I’ll open a ticket with them to see if we can determine what’s causing the issue.
