Displaying meta tag information with PHP

  • I want to create a custom description for each post that I can display under the title. By default, my theme shows the first several lines of the post. I’d like to control exactly what it displays instead.

    I thought one way to do this might be to display the meta tag description. Is there a way to echo or print that data with PHP?

    Or if there’s a better way I’d love to hear it.
