I’m trying to reproduce a Magento function that allows you to define a configurable date range in the admin interface for “New Arrivals” and then display those products on the front end (via archive page and/or shortcode).

I found this post but I’m not certain is it’s what I need, or if it’s still valid as it’s 2 years old.

I suppose another option besides date range would be to specify any product added in the last XX days shows up as a “New Arrival”, with XX being configurable in the admin interface.

    Thanks!

  • Hi Sarah! That is a good question. We do have the recent_products shortcode, so that might work for the new arrivals. You can read more about our shortcodes here.

For a specific date range, I would give that previous snippet a try on a staging site and see if it works. For more information on how how to set up a staging site, see this excellent article by the Robot Ninja devs.

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved. Feel free to start a new thread if you have any further questions!
