So looking at comments-bbpress.php, the plugin just displays the associated topic, but doesn’t allow adding a topic reply from the post screen.

Is there a way to have the option to add a reply from the post page? I realize you’re calling the guts of a shortcode to display (public function display_topic)

Why not just call public function display_reply_form prior to the do_action( ‘bbp_template_after_single_topic’); if I’m following your logic correctly.

ok, the plugin shows this, it might be a settings issue.

so are you logged in, or if not, are anonymous users allowed to post ?

Ok, I can reproduce the error and I think I know what is happening.

I applied 1.8.7 and then no posts were visible.
I clicked the button to apply against old posts and still no display.
I went in and edited the post, the box was checked and I saved the page.
    Now it works.

So it’s something to do with your applying against prior pages routine. It is acting like the updates you are making are being held in draft mode until I submit each post.

It’s still not letting me add a new reply on the page. It is only displaying existing pages (or an empty list if there are no replies).

apologies that I haven’t responded – I’m tied up in paid work at the moment, but really appreciate you helping out by getting something that can be replicated.

I’ll get to this in the next few days hopefully ??
