I am using shortcode [product_categories number=”0″ parent=”0″] to display just my main categories. Works fine. But when I click on a category, some of them display the subcategories for the parent category (which is what I want. Then if I click on the subcategory, I get the products in that subcategory. Again this what I want. But for a couple of my main (parent) categories, when I click the main category I get BOTH the subcategories and the products. I’ve checked out all the data and settings and I can’t see any difference between the ones that work the way I want and the ones that don’t

If you’re using WooCommerce, what each category/sub-category displays is set in it’s admin page. You’ll see a drop-down for ‘Display type’, and that’s where the option is set. You’ll need to check and set this for each category.
