  • I’m pretty sure you have to have the new form-shortcode,

[wpuf_form id=”your unique form id here”]

    instead of

    [wpuf_addpost]

since the last few updates. You have to go to “Forms” in the settings and edit or create your form, then get the shortcode and put it in the “Add Post” page.

I changed the shortcode on the Add Post page to the sample page shortcode to test. When I go to add a post it still displays the [wpuf_addpost]. Are you able to take a look if I provide login information? I can try deleting the plugin and re-installing but not sure that will help.

I previewed the page with the sample shortcode and got this error when I tried to submit a sample post.
    Home
Catchable fatal error: Object of class WP_Error could not be converted to string in /home/history/public_html/wp-content/themes/HighendWP/functions/breadcrumbs.php on line 96

    Website is https://www.mylivinghistory.org.

The Add Post page created by the plugin has the shortcode

    [wpuf_addpost]

you must replace that with the new form shortcode.

[wpuf_form id=”your unique form id here”]

which you will get when you create your form, or use the sample form. Either way you must replace the default shortcode, it doesn’t work.

    again:

since the last few updates. You have to go to “Forms” in the settings and edit or create your form, then get the shortcode and put it in the “Add Post” page.

I’m not a plugin contributor but I’ve been a support form contributor for years. I know this plugin, and have modified previous versions to get what I needed. Let me know if you still want me to log in to your site to help.

I just created another form with this shortcode. [wpuf_form id=”4397”]. When I go to add a post it still brings up the old shortcode. I seam not be able to get it to use the new one. I am using this plugin with Ultimate Member. In the menu bar it shows my posts and add post. When I click on add posts that’s when it still shows the old shortcode.

I just created another form with this shortcode. [wpuf_form id="4397”].

did you add this shortcode to the Add Post page and remove the old shortcode?

I guess I’m not getting this across. The page you are referring to never got created. I manually created the page and yes added the new shortcode but when I go to Add Post it brings up the old shortcode. Yes, it should be that easy but in my case it is not since the page never got created. When I installed the plugin it didn’t create any pages as documentation says it should have. I would really appreciate if someone can take a look for me. I was going to purchase pro but there is no need if I can’t get the basic version to work.

There should be a message at the top of your admin, asking if you want the plugin to create the default pages, did you get that?

    Thread Starter rkassebaum

    (@rkassebaum)

Nope, I never got that and I checked and it still is not there for me to try.

also, check the default post form setting under the plugin Settings.

This is a rather complicated plugin to set up, so it’s not only you!

however, I’ve been trying front end post plugins for years and this is by far the best. None are perfect, but this one is the best.

My big challenge has always been getting clients to make their own posts, but they have to call me every time so I can walk them through the WP admin. No more! I love this plugin! that’s why I’m here!
