Hi, I’m trying to switch from Ultimate Member to your membership plugin. I need to display the badges earned by users on their profile pages. I have read a bit about this issue on Gamipress (the badge plugin I’m using) support page and saw that the plugin author said it was possible if the membership plugin provides a way to set the user ID dynamically.

So does UsersWP provide a way to set the user ID dynamically?

  • Hi,

We have not integrated it with our plugin but if you can post your requirements then we can surely look into it. Can you explain in detail regarding setting user ID dynamically?

    Hi Patrik
Thank you so much for answering that. I really don’t have any idea what that means. ?? It’s what the Gamipress author wrote. You can find the discussion here:
    https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/display-a-users-achievements-and-level-on-the-user-page/

    And here’s what he wrote:

You have a huge number of shortcodes to show any information related to the user (points, achievements and ranks), you can check the documentation of all of them here:
    https://gamipress.com/docs/shortcodes/

An important attribute that almost all shortcodes support is the “current_user” that accepts as values “yes” or “no”

The unique issue is “current_user” attribute uses the current logged in user, not the user displayed

Also you have the attribute “user_id” if the membership plugin provides a way to set the user ID dinamically then you can use this way

I guess he means a variable for the “user_id of the author displayed”. Do we have that in UsersWP?

    Hi,

We have the function ‘uwp_get_displayed_user()’ which will return the User object of the currently displayed user profile or if you are in a loop of displaying users on the user listing page.

    Regards,
    Patrik
