• I had installed this plugin trying to build a membership site.

My goal was to combine it with Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) and control/limit the number of posts a member could publish based on his subscription plan.

I started testing the Free version, but it didn’t support ACF integration.
So I bought the Pro version.

But the Pro version had realy no support for a valid invoicing and payment gateways.
So I bought also the Business version that could integrate with Paid Memberships Pro.

    What was the result?

    Disaster.

Apart from the integration with Advanced Custom Fields and easy creation of submit forms, nothing else worked as expected.

You could set limits in the backend, that were not applied in the frontend. Users could post as much as they wanted.

And also there was the famous 1970 year problem, with no idea of the cause.

I contacted support. I have to admit that they replied every time.

The problem was that most of the times, the answer was not solving any problem. So I stopped bothering them. It was a waste of time.

End of the story, after many tries and digging into the code, I have uninstalled all versions of this plugin.

After loosing a month of time and money, I ended up creating a solution using ACF’s functionality, custom coding and utilizing Paid Memberships Pro.

Prior to posting this review, I have informed them.

For me so far, this was the worst experience with a WP free to paid plugin.

    PS
I am relatively new to WP ecosystem. Only 5 years experience.
+15 years to other CMSs and web design
I have created many sites and eshops using WP without problems.
Thats why I trusted the Pro and Business editions of this plugin.

  • Hello @elias69,

We are really sorry for this unexpected inconvenience and the experience you had. I have checked your tickets and seems like our support staff checked your website and she mentioned that she could not reproduce. As she did not get a further reply for that reason, it was not resolved.

The subscription date 1970 is not a major issue. It is really simple to solve just re-save subscription package with the correct expiry date can solve. Also, the POSIT limit issue is valid and we are waiting to solve for you.

You will be happy to know that your ticket is now on the top priority and I personally asked the support to check your issue and solve within today. We do not want you to be sad.

An experienced user like you is really important for us. I hope you will allow us to check and resolve your issue. As your mentioned features are paid for that reason, we are unable to discuss more on this forum.

    Thanks ??

I can only agree with @elias69
I have been working and postponing my project for around 6 months at least.
Tickets are really slow to be answered and if solved. Also the ticketing system is a real poor experience for the user.

I am still postponing and waiting to launch my project due to pending issues that I posted at GitHub.

Staff won’t even dare spend a 0.10$ to make a “test buy” through PayPal to monitor/prove a bug I found.

I have found many and many too many bugs. It is like if “does someone ever used WPUF Pro in real world?” Where are the testers?

    Thank you for your reply.

I am sure that your intentions are good.

Your support contacted me and asked to solve all problems as a priority.
    Good for your company.
But all the paid versions of plugins I have bought during the last 5 years, never had any major problems. They were just plug and play.

Unfortunately you can’t offer me any help now, as during the last couple of weeks I have moved on. I have uninstalled all free and paid versions of your plugin. I have created my own solution using Advanced Custom Fields forms, Paid Memberships Pro and a lot of custom coding.

Your plugin was a really bad experience.

For me it had so many bugs that made it unreliable. Not a solution to base a business on it.

And when I talk about bugs, I am not talking about well hidden bugs.
I discovered bugs in basic functions. Is anyone testing this plugin? And if so, are they good testers? Are there live installations using this plugin?

And you know something my friend, this could be one of the best WP plugins ever.
Only if it worked and did what it advertises that it does.
You have to test it better and address all bug issues.

I know that in this place we cannot talk about paid versions.

But because the free version is a step prior to buing a paid version, I had to warn future buyers.

Because that is the current case of your plugin.

    PS
The code for the Paid Memberships Pro Integration Addon is dated back to 2013. 6 years ago. A lot of things have changed since then. And it doesn’t work apart form displaying in the backend the numbers of post limits.
