When I am uploading an image to my website, the image looks fine in the Media Library. However, when I publish the image to the website, it appears super grainy and low-res. Any idea on what could be causing this? I am using Hi-res photos when I upload them, and I have tried resizing images to fit the appropriate container. But the problem still persists.

At first, I thought it was the WP Smush plugin, so I disabled it; however, the problem still continued. Any help would be appreciated.

(See Homepage for examples of the low-res photos)

  • Hello!

    Well, for example this one

    https://www.geeksandgamers.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/playstation1-700x325.jpg

is smaller than the slider’s container.

The image is 700×325 and the slider is set to be 962×446. So if you add images smaller than the slider’s container, then it will stretch them to fit its size, therefore making them look blurry.

The media file in WordPress is auto-resize when we upload the image. You can set it from the admin to full size.

    your resize image.

    Follow the steps given below.

    1) go to admin media and select image.
    2) click on Edit image button.
    3) on right side select “All image sizes” under “Apply changes to” option

I appreciate the responses. The slider was set to the wrong dimensions. Thank you!
