• Hi Team WP,

I have upgraded to the latest version of WP, and I find the distraction free writing tool very interesting. I would be happy if you could include the following three things in it, for the next version.

    1. Justify button – Currently we need to exit full-screen and go back for justifying the text. Even on the editor, I feel it should be placed on the top line (along with left, right alignment), not the bottom line.

    2. Formatting drop down menu that allows us to choose Paragraph, H3, H2 etc.

    3. Word count – Though it is available, it disappears! I like to keep looking at the word count while typing my posts.

Also, even though my theme displays the characters in a bigger font, the editor displays it so small! I work for hours in the editor seeing such a small font but people reading them get to see big sized text! Anything we can do to increase the font size in the editor?

    Thanks.

  • Hey destinationinfinity,

Just wanna chip in the discussion and let you know our advanced WordPress editor – Artsy Editor is going to help you out.

We have #1 and #2 right in the full-screen editor, as well as using keyboard shortcuts. And word count will be available tomorrow in our 1.1.2 release.

    Hope it helps! ??

Note – Artsy is a paid plugin, not hosted by the WP repository. Which doesn’t mean much, save that GENERALLY we don’t like people pimping their wares, as it were, on wp.org ??

Gotcha. Point taken. After all, just want to help people out.

Yeah ?? I figured as much. Just be transparent that it’s a pay-for plugin ?? And obviously don’t spam.

Ok – I will definitely mention the price upfront.

I’m with desintationinfinity. I’m really missing the toolbar options in the full screen mode for post creation. There’s so little room in the dashboard mode to get a feeling for the flow of your post.

Plus all the additional options are too distracting.

I would also like a have save draft option in full screen mode as well. Whilst easy to do, switching between modes interrupts the flow of my creative thinking!

cat2rread – The auto-save should be happening anyway, unless you turned if off in your wp-config.php file
