    Hello,

    As I write this I am monitoring Live Traffic watching as I am being attacked. There are attempts from all over the world all trying to get in through wp-login and xmlrpc.

    I have blocked xmlrpc since I do not use it and my login count is set to 2 with a rather long wait for another chance. What more can people do to keep safe?

    Also I am reading on the net that this is an ongoing attack on many sites. Please be aware and be careful.

  • Hey @justwander,

    In addition to the actions you’ve taken, I’d suggest making sure you have a strong password and are using Two-Factor. These are two of the most important security actions a site admin can do. There’s only so much we can do to prevent attacks, it’s more about making sure they aren’t successful.

    Thanks,

    Gerroald

    @wfgerald,

    My password length is in the neighborhood of 26 to 30 characters. I it is a sentence that means something only to me and I have numbers and symbols taking the place of certain words. Can’t get those monkeys typing Shakspeare out of my head.

    Thanks for all the work you do. I’m going to call your boss and suggest a raise.
