I’m creating Event Pages using Divi Builder but notice that EM Placeholders are not parsed when I do so. They just show up on the page as is.

Does anyone know a way to trigger the EM parsing engine when using Divi?

just to confirm, can I know where did you use the placeholders, inside the EM details ?

Hi Angelo, Thanks for replying. I’m using the Events page section within the EM manager. When Divi is installed, it can be used as a form of WYSIWYG editor.

Here’s a screenshot walkthrough of the issue.

Divi with Event Manager issue – placeholders not parsing

    thanks!

    I don’t use Divi Builder..
you probably already know.. but when you put something like “Code” in between the “Code” tags…
It is inserted as “raw” information.. ie: code is not executed.

What happens when you just put the placeholder in it’s raw form.. not wrapped in the “Code Tags” ?

and or you might have to go in and put the placeholder in using the Text Editor.. if that is an option in Divi Builder.

    Hi Rob,

Divi contains both a and <text> option. With both of those - placeholders do not get replaced with Divi content.

It seems like the event manager parsing engine does not fire on content held in Divi (and probably other content builders).

Using the shortcode is necessary to “parse” the placeholder.. it works for me not using Divi Builder.
    [event]#_EVENTID[/event]

Use the Divi module as you originally tried “Code” to insert the shortcode.

I am nearly certain the Event must be published before an Id is assigned..
(post id, as EM is a custom post). #_EVENTID .
Although saving as draft may also assign an Id.. (post id, as EM is a custom post).

    Shortcodes for EM
    https://wp-events-plugin.com/documentation/shortcodes/

And for our discussion and the link I just provided…
This shortcode requires the post_id OR event attribute, however, if used within an event description and none of these attributes, it will automatically use the event the description belongs to (useful for showing event placeholders within an event description).

Also.. I discovered your development website from from one of the pictures,
and noticed it is “Maintenance Mode”.

If the shortcode I provided above still doesn’t work, as a last resort, maybe take it out of Maintenance Mode… log out of Admin. And look at the page/post ie event… as regular visitor.

Hope that gets it working for you.
