Do a lot of comments increase page loading time ?

  • I was just wondering that how much impact the code comments in PHP files have on the loading time of the blogs.

    I am sure that in HTML pages comments increase the loading time and slow down the pages, But I am not sure about PHP as PHP is executed on the server only and the resultant page to be downloaded and displayed has no comments included.

    Anyone ?

    I mean the coding comments in PHP pages, not the comments in posts

    Comments within the PHP pages itself won’t do alot, if anything. However, alot of HTML comments will slow down your pages as your user’s web browser we have to download more code that is needed.
