• Do I need a page actually called “Blog” in order to have a blog with this theme? This is my first blog and Im very confused as to how this works. Where do I actually write my blog posts and such? Currently, I am showing my latest posts on the opening page to my site instead of a static page because I do not want a “home” page, I want users to be able to open the site directly to my blog. And I have no idea how to do this either which is why I am wondering if I need an actual page called “Blog” or not?

  • Hi gratschultz2013. You don’t need to create a “Blog” page; the theme takes care of that for you. If you’ve already created your posts, and they’re being displayed on the front page, then it’s working normally. If the user clicks on one of the posts on the front page it should open that post.

    This is what im trying to figure out, I have not started writing posts because I want to figure out the way it all works first. I have never done this before so its all new to me. I really want my “home” page to be where my blog shows up. But how do I do this exactly? Because when I go to settings–reading—and select static front page and choose “home”, I still have to put something in the spot where it says “posts page” which posts page obviously means blog page so this is where im getting really confused and have no idea what to do!!!!!!!!!!!!

    So, in Settings > Reading you would set your Front page to be “Your latest posts”. This way the system knows to format the front page as a blog, showing your latest posts in descending chronological order. These posts can be shown in either one or two columns. The theme also includes a Featured Post option which displays one or more posts with a full-width image at the top of the front page, and it can also be configured as a slider.

    Okay……..so howcome when I click on a post, I get a blank page? I want to be able to click on the post title and then I can read about the article and share via social media and everything from the home page like other blogs I see. My url is https://stancechannel.com if that helps at all.

    go to this website https://thesportscarguys.com/ notice when you open the URL it takes you directly to their blog page which is considered their home page. This is what I am trying to set up but cant figure it out for the friggen life of me! Ive literally wasted 6 hours figuring this out!

    It’s because the link on the Hello World post is set to go to your site home page:

    <a href="https://stancechannel.com/home" title="Hello world!">

    This is the same link assigned to your “Home” menu item. This brings up “page-id-5” and that page is blank.

    go to the link in the previous post i sent you. In that website you clock on their homepage and its their posts page which is what I am trying to do but cant figure out how to set it up like that for the life of me. I want my menu item “home” to be the place where my blog posts would be when you click on the title of it from my first page. Because currently when you click on a post it takes you to a blank page.

    I want it to go to my home page but why isnt it displaying on the home page is what im asking?

    Please go to https://thesportscarguys.com/ ……. their home page is their POSTS PAGE, which is what I am trying to do. I want to be able to open up my website and first thing you see is my latest posts and then when you click on one of the posts I want it to open up to its own article so viewers can read the damn article!

    Did you do this?
    Settings > Reading you would set your Front page to be “Your latest posts”.
