    Hi,

We recently purchased and installed WP Staging Pro and kept the free version plugin installed (but deactivated). Do we still need the free version plugin? We keep having updates for the free version, which we’re not using (as I understand it), and the license is only activated on the production site for the Pro version, so the staging site’s WP Staging basic can’t be updated without the license being activated on the staging site. The only way in which we can update the free version of the plugin in the staging site (I theorize) is by deactivating the license key on the production site, activating it on the staging site, running the update, and doing those steps backward plus doing all of that again for every update. Otherwise, I have a continuous pending update on my dashboard and a potential vulnerability for the outdated plugin. Can somebody please tell me if I can remove the free version plugin after installing the Pro version? It would make managing the plugins much easier. Many thanks for considering my request.

    Hello @lizr1

While the current free version is not required and can be disabled when using the pro version, we will change that behavior with one of the upcoming release of the free version for technical reasons.

So in the future, it will be mandatory to have the free version installed but wp staging will make it easy for you to keep both plugins up to date.

Please send us all further pro-related questions via our support contact form.

    All the best,
    René
