We are encountering an issue on our website with products that use both Flexible Shipping and Flat Rate Shipping methods. When a product with Flexible Shipping is added to the cart along with a product with Flat Rate Shipping, only the Flat Rate fee is applied at checkout, resulting in a loss for our business.

Could you please confirm if this issue can be resolved by upgrading to the PRO version of the plugin? We are willing to purchase the PRO version, but we would like to ensure that it will allow us to charge both shipping fees accurately when different methods are used in a single cart.

Thank you very much for your assistance.

    Hi @jereruiz,

Could you show examples in screenshots?
Alternatively, you can check how the PRO plugin works on our demo: https://demo.octolize.com.

    Here you have an example:

Cabinets for California has flat rate of 260, and stools has flex rate:

Cabinets and stools has flex rate for alaska, so the shipping cost is prefectly calculated:

If I increase the amount of stools, it increases the cost of the shipping:

But if i ship to California, were Cabinets has a flat rate of 260 and stools has flex shipping, look whats happen: (There is no cost for shipping the stools)

If you add even more stools, the shipping remains at 260:

HEre you have the link to the products if you wanna test it your self:

Here is our shipping settings: Let me know if you need to have more info. Thank you!

@jereruiz, thank you for the screenshots. All the shipping methods you have in your store are Flat Rate methods, which are built-in WooCommerce methods. For assistance with configuring these methods, you will need to reach out to the WooCommerce forum.

If you want to use Flexible Shipping methods, you need to add a shipping method named Flexible Shipping. Please note that the free version of the plugin does not support shipping classes. If you want to base shipping methods on shipping classes, you will need the PRO version. In the PRO version, you can use the visual rules table editor to add rules based on shipping classes and many other options.

Hi @grola thanks for your reply! The places in the US and Canada that doesn’t have a Flat rate has Flex rates by the UPS plug in that calculates the shipping in real-time for those orders.

Here you have the settings for that plug in. In that case, it will be possible to create a mix of Flat and Flex for my shipping? Or I’ll need to create a new shipping class with Flex rate anyway? Sorry for making that many questions, but we want to be sure is worth to add another plug in to the site. Thank you!

Hi @jereruiz, this is also not related to the Flexible Shipping plugin.

    (@jereruiz)

Hi @grola. But this is what happen when you choose to ship to a place that doesn’t have a Flat rate, that UPS plug in applies the flex rates.

It would be possible with your plugin to configure to add the flex rate from the UPS plug in and the Flat Rates from WooCommerce in the same cart? If we need to change something in how its configured right now, we can change it, but just want to be sure we will be able to charge for all the shipping clasess.

    Hi @jereruiz,

I can confirm that our plugins, allow you to combine a flat rate (e.g., for a selected shipping classes) and a live UPS rate.

    To answer your original question:

Do I need to buy PRO Version for this?

Yes, what you describe requires paid versions of our plugins.

Our naming is slightly different from the one you are using:

    • flex rate = live rate
    • Flexible Shipping PRO – a plugin that allows you to adjust rates for shipping classes.
    • UPS Live Rates – our integration with UPS that allows you to add live rates.

If you use our solutions, you can combine both rates in one method.

What we also wanted to point out is that you are not yet using our solutions. On this forum, we can provide support for the free Flexible Shipping plugin. What you describe will require paid solutions. With this in mind, I invite you to contact us using the pre-sales form at https://octolize.com/support/.

For Black Friday, we are now offering bundles of our plugins at a lower price: https://octolize.com/product/all-plugins-bundle/. Both of the plugins I mentioned are in this bundle.

    Hi @jereruiz,

I see that my colleagues are already providing you with support for paid versions of plugins. Here, unfortunately, we cannot discuss them, due to forum rules.

    Let’s continue on email!

    Best regards,
    Tomek
